Meet Sarah
My name is Sarah (Sah-ra), I am a clinically trained herbalist originally from Montréal, now practicing on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. I started travelling in my teens years, at first it was to chase waves & along the way I discovered a love for farming & herbal medicine.
•
Throughout my years of travelling I realized I was always drawn to the older women of my communities. Often, they were the wise elders who knew about the medicinal properties of plants & the profound connection we have with Nature. They guided me and helped me find the herbal path. They were my initial teachers.
•
After years of self-learning & gathering multicultural knowledge, I decided to complete a three year Phytotherapy (Western Herbal Medicine) diploma to become a registered medical herbalist. I am proud & thrilled about all the knowledge I gathered by diving deeper into the plant & biomedical science world to understand better how we can work alongside nature to support our health & heal ourselves.
•
My intention is to share my love of herbal medicine & spread the knowledge of the healing properties of plants, in order for them to be an integral part of our lives; the way they used to be. That is the seed and the intention behind Violette Apothecary; to reclaim herbal traditions and help people remember their innate connection with Nature & its medicine.

As part of my diploma, I completed over 500 hours of clinical consultation where I held space for patients & their health concerns. During the consultation I created a plan unique to each patient and discussed with them what herbs would be best suited for them & their healing.
•
Now that I have graduated, it is an honour for me to offer the same consultation service through my practice. It is an honour to spend valuable time with my patients and take the time with them to get to the root cause of their health concerns & goals. I love to be in service and it is a true privilege to accompany my patients on their journey with herbal medicine.
•
My love for farming got me to grow & harvest most of the herbs I use in my personal apothecary and I dream of one day growing enough plant medicine to support my patients. When I have dirt on my hands, my feet buried in soil & a basket filled with medicine, that’s when my heart is full. That’s when I’m reminded I found my purpose.
